Some good news for fishermen looking to get out and take their first trip offshore this season: the 2013 cod season opened April 16th for Gulf of Maine waters north of Cape Cod, including Jeffreys Ledge and Stellwagen Bank. Early reports have been very good, and despite some negative news about commercial cod regulations this winter, recreational regulations are 9 fish per person, at a minimum size of 19 inches.
