Given the path of the spring striper migration, the talented surfcasters that make up Team Jersey Shore usually start the Striper Cup with a bang, getting out to an early lead in the Club Competition. As the water warms and the fish head north, in years past that lead faded, eventually being eclipsed later in the summer. But this year may be different. Team Jersey Shore has gotten its best start yet, landing several fish in the mid- to high-40-pound range, currently being lead by Chris Lagrossa’s 47-pound beauty – from the surf! Those shore qualifier points have given the team an impressive score of more than 500 points, their club record – and the fishing in Jersey is still going strong!
