Back in April, massive numbers of bluefish hit New Jersey, eating everything in sight and kicking off the Garden State’s saltwater season with a bang. Last weekend, it looked like those big blues swung back through on their way south, and when they found big schools of bunker in Raritan Bay, it made for some of the most spectacular blitzes ever caught on tape. Fearing a bloody end in the teeth of a big bluefish, the bunker schooled up so tightly that it left some members of the school high and dry. Check out the video below to get a taste of last weekend’s carnage, and check out the Northern and Southern New Jersey Fishing Forecasts to figure out where these big blues might end up next.

This is what we’ve been seeing in the bays in Long Island Sound. But contrary to the title, I don’t see any bluefish or carnage, just a ridiculous number of happy bunker.
