This past June, I had the pleasure of joining the folks from Penn Reels at Crocodile Bay Lodge on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The goal was to pit the new Penn Spinfisher V against some tough customers before the reel was to be released at ICAST the following month. The variety of gamefish in Costa Rica is mind-blowing. Roosterfish, tuna, sailfish, snappers, jacks, and on and on all did battle against the new Penn Spinfisher V, and the reel performed beautifully. After using the reel in Costa Rica, I can’t wait to use it on big stripers and bluefin tuna back home. Here’s a quick video Penn put together from our trip. Enjoy.
