Living Off The Land (& Sea)
Crabby Cheesy-Poof Appetizers
Woot! Woot! The Super Bowl is this Sunday! If you’re looking for some new dishes to add to your game-day feast, look no further. This is one of my all-time favorite appetizers, and it’s super easy to make. On a Caveman Cooking Skills scale of 1 to 10, this one is about a 1.5. If you can open a can, split an English muffin, and set a timer, you got this!
Once again, my beloved New England Patriots have made it to the big dance. The Patriots are owned by Robert Kraft, and this recipe calls for Kraft Old English Cheese, which is a key ingredient, and should not be substituted.
Overview:
Caveman Cooking Skills-Difficulty: 1.5/10
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 6-ounce can lump crab meat, drained
- 1 5-ounce jar Kraft Old English Cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 English muffins, split
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/2 packet of Sazon Con Azafron (optional)
- Paprika
Step 1: Getting Started
Melt the butter in the saucepan, turn the heat to low, and add the crab meat. Stir the crab meat around until it’s coated in butter, then add in the Old English Cheese.

Step 2: Spice It Up
Add in the hot sauce and Sazon. When the cheese is melted, give it a good stir and remove the pan from the heat.

Step 3: Assemble
Place your split English muffins, “cranny” side up, on a greased baking sheet. Place a heaping spoonful of our wonderful crab concoction atop each English muffin and spread it around evenly. Sprinkle with paprika and place the baking sheet on the top rack of a preheated 400-degree oven.
Step 4: Bake
Bake on the top rack for around 14 to 18 minutes until they are nice and crispy.
Step 5: Let Them Cool
Let them rest for a few minutes and then cut them into quarters to make bite-sized morsels that are packed with crispy, buttery, crabby flavor that will make you smile.

Nice recipe. FYI, Bob Kraft does not own Kraft Foods
Looks good, but the info on Bob Kraft is incorrect, he is head of the Kraft Group not KraftHeinze.
Thanks for pointing that out Peter! We removed that misinformation.
He never said he owned Kraft cheese.
My wife has been making these forever one of my favorite recipes!
