I’ve always thought that Penn was the go to company for salt. I’ve since changed to Saltiga 5000 for surf and Saltist for boat.. great equipment If this is as good my Saltiga… I’m on it.
Grew up using Mitchell and Penn Reels. Never knew Diawa was into Surf Casting
I’m ready for a quality combo to get me out there more often .
I have used Diawa fresh water gear. Im sure the surf gear is top quality too!
I like my saltist, would love an upgrade.

I mostly boat fish with spin and baitcasters,but a friend keeps asking me to go surf casting with him. This would be a great way to get started.
i currently have Lamiglas rods and Penn battles for my surf rod combos but i only use daiwa for all of my freshwater trout fishing and I am a huge fan of the SS Tournament line of reels.

I,ve always used Diawa reels for fresh water fishing but never had one for saltwater,would love to have a real nice saltwater reel and rod combow that is perfectly matched.!!

big fan of daiwa still have a minispin ultra light. I seem to have grown up with the company own a couple of saltists and I cant count how many sps … fish here love them heard their braid is top notch … haven’t tried it yet good fishing everyone

I have been using a Daiwa casting reel for bottom fish all winter and it has become my favorite. I would love to have and use this set up.

Well i have just reinstated. My commercial fishing licences. For scup.totaug.seabass.striped bass and blue fish. I use to use diawa. But they stopped making my favorite reels and so i switched to back to penn. But im looking for some new gear..although my penns are reliable i miss my diawa.if. i get selected and she stands the stress of constant big fish.i will definitely. Swap back!!god knows im in the market..GODBLESS

I really hope I can get this. My dad and I love to go out fishing for hard earned Striped Bass and Blues. He doesn’t have the money to get a rod and reel and I want to get one for him before they get here.
