Sports Port, located on West Main St. in Hyannis, MA was established in 1950 and has become an iconic shop for local anglers. Current owner, Amy Wrightson took over the shop in 2007 and has not looked back. Carrying everything from freshwater to saltwater tackle, bait and even shellfish rakes, Sports Port has become an iconic landmark for many.
“The fisherman in the red boat out front (‘The Old Salt’) has been a landmark in Hyannis for decades. He is our open sign.” said Amy. “It’s the kind of shop guys bring their kids to and can remember the days they were there as youngsters with their dads and grand dads.” The shop showcases many local luremakers “art work” in the form of plugs and both fresh and saltwater flies, and even local rods from makers like Local Hooker and Vineyard Stiks.
