Field Test Favorites: Commando Surfcasting 6-Tube Plug Bag

My absolute biggest pet peeve when I’m surfcasting is going to remove a plug from my surf bag, and finding the treble hooks hopelessly embedded in the bag’s fabric. This has not only cost me fishing time, it’s cost me plugs! Wrestling to free my plug from one particularly soft plug bag, I accidentally knocked two other plugs into the water, where I watched them float away into the night. It was that experience that put me on the market for a new plug bag. I wanted something with ample storage and hook-proof material. After looking around, I landed on the 6-Tube Bag from Commando Surfcasting. The material used to make these bags is so tough, it seems like the hook point would bend before it ever pierced it. The large drain holes get water out of the bag quickly if you end up wading through some deep water, and the large pockets hold an ample amount of extra gear. The side pockets easily fit a couple jars of Uncle Josh pork rinds, and the front pocket stores hard-to-pack lures like swim shads and soft-plastic stickbaits, which I previously crammed into tubes with the rest of my lures. Commando has a nice selection of plug bags, and better yet, they can be customized to your specific surfcasting needs.

      Hey Kenny,
I’m not sure, but it looks like their website is down and I couldn’t find them on Facebook. My best suggestion would be to contact Tom White on Facebook and ask if he’s still making surf bags.
