Grady-White Express 340 — On-The-Water Review
The Grady-White Express 340 is a 34-foot express-cabin that blends offshore chops with cruiser-yacht style. After walking the model at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, it’s clear this is a strong fit for our Northeast fisheries, where you can’t always wait for a perfect weather window to make an offshore run.
Powered by up to 1,050 hp (most commonly triple Yamaha F350s), the Express 340 runs on a stout, hand-laid SeaV² hull with 20° of transom deadrise—a hull form designed to deliver a soft, dry ride when heading south of Block Island, climbing an afternoon Buzzards Bay chop, or making long runs into the canyons. With a 340-gallon fuel capacity and port/starboard fills, range and refueling flexibility are built in.
Below deck, the Express 340 is a “home away from home”: a full galley with Dekton countertop and backsplash, stainless sink, electric glass-top stove, refrigerator, and microwave; a private enclosed head with shower and VacuFlush toilet; an aft double berth; and a forward V-berth with an adjustable backrest. Add 18,000-BTU air conditioning, a hot-water system, composite teak-and-holly sole, indirect lighting, and abundant storage, and you’ve got true comfort for long days on the water or weekend cruising.
On deck, the layout is optimized for fishing and flexibility. The cockpit offers two insulated fish boxes (166-qt and 87-qt), a 30-gallon insulated raw-water livewell, flush-mount electronics surfaces, plentiful rod holders, port- and starboard-side doors, and a full swim platform with ladder. A mezzanine seat with flip-up bolster, pull-out footrest, storage, and a fold-out Dekton counter/bar increases versatility—perfect for crew between drifts or family afternoons.
At the 2025 Fort Lauderdale show, the Express 340’s updated layout—with a starboard helm, clever mezzanine seating, reconfigured transom, and more—stood out as a significant upgrade from the beloved Express 330.
