Falmouth, Massachusetts; Saturday, September 26, 2015
On a picture-perfect fall afternoon on Cape Cod, more than 4,000 fishermen, friends and families partied at Marina Park on Falmouth Harbor, enjoying great food from The Black Dog Tavern, drinking Budweiser beer, dancing to the music of Sudden Relic, and celebrating the beloved striped bass.
On The Water awarded over $150,000 in prizes to Striper Cup participants at the event, including weekly and monthly tournament prize packages. A brand new Striper 220CC boat with a Yamaha engine and Simrad electronics was won by tournament participant John Dyer of Salem, Massachusetts when his Golden Ticket was randomly selected at the culmination of the event.

Dyer did not weigh a fish in the tournament this year, but like all entrants, he received a Golden Ticket that, when entered at the annual StriperFest, gave him a shot at winning the tournament’s Grand Prize.

Again this year, the StriperFest partnered with The Melanoma Foundation of New England to increase awareness of skin cancer among anglers. A silent auction of items donated by Striper Cup sponsors raised over $3,400 dollars.

Yamaha offered demo rides out of Falmouth Harbor from 9 am to 5 pm so attendees could experience their V6 Offshore 4-Stroke on the waters of Vineyard Sound.
Striper Cup sponsors, including Van Staal, Quantum, Sebile Lures, Spiderwire Line, Simrad and Lowrance electronics, and Costa Sunglasses, displayed their newest products for fishermen at StriperFest.

Prizes and awards were presented to anglers who fished in the Striper Cup tournament in Boat, Shore, Youth, Team, and Kayak divisions. An increased emphasis on the Catch and Release competition resulted in over 50,323 inches of striped bass submitted for weekly prizes and Angler of the Year honors.
