Offshore Overnight - Photo Essay

Jordan Paullo from Shimano invited us aboard the Helen-H for an opportunity to test out some new Shimano gear on some bluewater gamefish. Though the seas were rough and the fishing was tough, OTW Graphic Designer George Clondas captured the experience of party boat canyon fishing through the lens of his Nikon D7000. Enjoy.

The crew eagerly awaits boarding time for a 36-hour offshore adventure.

Sleeping bags and coolers littered the parking lot as anglers waited to board the Helen-H.

A nice mahi becomes the first resident of the fish box after only a few minutes of trolling. He’d be lonely in there for a few hours.

Anglers watch the spread dilligently, waiting for a big bite before sundown.

Anglers stayed at the rail all night, but other than a swordfish drive by and a couple small dolphin, nothing showed.

No tuna all night, but the crew remained hopeful for the morning troll.
