Don’t count on getting offshore for the next couple days, but before the wind picked up, reports were looking pretty good, especially for bluefin tuna in New England.

Offshore action in the southern canyons has been spotty for the most part, but the tuna have been running big, 70 to 90 pounds.
Hudson and Lindenkohl canyons have been good, giving up yellowfin and longfin on the troll and the chunk. Some marlin were still around as of last week.
The tuna bite is still hot off Cape Cod. Peaked Hill continues to produce action for jigging and trolling fishermen. The BB Buoy area is loaded with bluefin as well. Eric Stewart at the Hook Up had 9 tuna from 29 to 83 inches on Monday. Trolled ballyhoo were the ticket. Unfortunately, weather has kept most Cape Cod bluefin boats at the dock for most of the week.
When winds subside, there should still be a couple good weeks of canyon fishing, and while the bluefin bite will be fading off Massachusetts, it will be heating up off Long Island and New Jersey.
