- Stripers have been spawning in Delaware River. A giant striped bass estimated at 60 pounds was caught and released in April. (photo)
- Keeper stripers are in the back bays of Southern New Jersey.
- Sean Feeney landed a 33-pound striper off Northern New Jersey. (photo)
- Schools of keeper-sized and bigger stripers are moving into Raritan Bay, where jigging and clams are catching fish.
New York
- Keeper stripers are migrating farther east along the South Shore of Long Island, and the North Shore is beginning to warm up.
- Large stripers are being caught off Staten Island and up the Hudson River, where the fish are staging to spawn.
New England
- A growing number of fresh fish, including keepers, are mixing in with holdovers in the Connecticut Rivers.
- There has been an increase in the number of fresh schoolie stripers along the Rhode Island Coast.
- Schoolie stripers have been reported from Fairhaven to Onset and on the Cape side of Buzzards Bay.
- The first reports of fresh schoolies came in on 5/4 from the south side of Martha’s Vineyard and the Woods Hole to Cotuit area.
- Boston Harbor has holdover fish, but fresh fish are about 1 week away.

great, but where can I hit from the shore in rhode island?
Went last night on nantucket and got the skunk, i did however see some herring busting on something close to shore!
Not yet little one. Save your gas but have your gear ready. When I mean ready I mean rubber worm ready for the cape cod canel. For those who DONT SPEAK THE TRIBUTE here’s to you uncle JACK
Tony will grubtails on a 1/2 oz or 1oz jighead work the same. I have sluggos also.
I am from northern Vermont and I would love to head south to catch a keeper striper so where would you recommend I go right now. I usually fish Barstable harbor on the cape but can’t wait til they arrive. Thanks! Dale
