Bunker everywhere from the back bays of Shinnecock, through the inlet, to 3 miles offshore, west and east of the Shinnecock inlet. The bass bite has been solid for the boat folks offshore. The bass bite has been decent in the inlet. There is also a large presence of Sand Eels offshore as well with bass on them. Bass have been caught up to mid 50s with mid 30lb bass being average.
Fluke bite remains very good from the bays through Shinnecock Inlet. Whether its boat, or fishing from the jetty, there is a great presence of fluke in our waters. Plenty of keepers to go around.
The Shark fishing is marginally epic right now. If you don’t go immediately, you are a FOOL!!! Anywhere from 5 to 20 miles out looking for structure. There is an absurd amount of quality sized Mako and Threshers. This is one of your best opportunities to catch one of these sharks.
Bluefin bite is starting up and picking up around the Maiden Creek. More info to come as it heats up more!
