Inshore Yellowfin Frenzy off New Jersey

Captain Gene Quigley of Shore Catch Guide Service in New Jersey had out Mark Deangelis, Scott and Calvin for an incredible day of inshore yellowfin tuna fishing last week.

Upon arrival they put on the troll and within minutes had fish crashing the Sterling Spreader bars. After about an hour of catching on the troll, they set up on the drift to chunk and jig. It took about 20 minutes to get the fish in the slick, and for the next three hours they had 25- to 75-pound yellowfin right under the boat. For a while, they were even feeding them by hand!

The guys broke out the jigs and stick baits and it was game on!. They were using the new OBX 400 BFT jigging rods and the new Saltywater Tackle “El Maestro” 710 popping rod. At times they had three fish hooked up at once—one on a jig, one on a stick bait, and one on a sardine. The hot jig was the CB ONE 120gram and the CB ONE Ozma stickbait.
