S. Berks County

Fishing continues to be good considering we are into the dog days of summer.

Striper activity in the Spring Creek arm of Blue Marsh Lake provided plenty of action over the weekend.
Not many large fish, but steady fish caught mainly on worms. The rip-rap along the shore at State Hill was the hot spot for smallmouth, with some nice bass taken on plastics fished deep.Don’t overlook the obvious, dock areas and rocky shorelines are ideal for hooking into big bass. Work the small coves throughout the lake for musky, spinner baits have been the choice lure this summer.

Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout are hitting in the Tulpehocken Creek downstream of Blue Marsh. Fish early and late, leave the boots in the car and cool off!

Bucks County

Neshaminy Creek: Largemouth Bass and Rock Bass were taking chartreuse 3-inch rubber twister tail worms around the Big Brothers/Big Sisters access point off of Old York Road. The creek was still high and brown from recent rain, but that didn’t stop the fish from attacking the bright baits. Drive past the Big Brothers/Big Sisters building to access the County parking along this stretch.

Reminder: “All unpowered boats (canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, rowboats, etc) launching or retrieving at PFBC access areas and DCNR state parks or forests must have a current boat registration (issued by any state), or PFBC Use Permit, or DCNR Launch or Mooring Permit.
