Southeastern Pennsylvania Fishing Report | October 23, 2014

Much needed rainfall has picked up the fishing in the area.

E. Berks County/N. Montgomery County

Local anglers at Lake Ontelaunee in Berks County are catching panfish out of the Rte. 73 Quarry Hole. With the temperatures dropping and less daylight, the best fishing is first thing in the morning. Try using plastic grubs on jig heads down deep in the Quarry Hole to entice panfish out of the depths. Good luck and happy fishing!

S. Berks County

Much needed rainfall has picked up the fishing in the area. The recently stocked Scott’s Run Lake and the Tulpehocken Creek downstream of Blue Marsh are great spots for trout. Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout are hitting spinners and a variety of bait, and the Tulpehocken Creek is a prime location for fly-fishing. Please pay close attention to posted special regulations on the Tulpehocken Creek below the Blue Marsh Stilling Basin to the Red Covered Bridge. No bait is permitted and all fish must be released ( Delayed Harvest-Artificial Lures Only Area). Good luck!

Fishing at Blue Marsh Lake has been good for both striper and bass.
The lake has been gradually releasing water, so be careful while boating and reduce speed where necessary.

Bucks County
