While fishing off of Provincetown last Tuesday, November 11th, three of us caught this 84 inch (roughly 400 pound) bluefin. We were in our 22 foot boat fishing with spinning gear – a 6″6′ Shimano Terez and a Van Staal 300 with 80 pound braided line. It took the three of us almost 2 hours to land it. We’re amateurs, but have been landing smaller tuna for the last several years on the spinning gear. We learned everything we know from Bobby Rice of Reel Deal Charters. We caught this fish the same day On The Water TV filmed with Bobby and Eric from Schoonie Charters.
