Maine Saltwater Report

Squid have been caught in New Hampshire and the mackerel are in heavy in southern Maine. Lots of schoolie stripers with a few large bass in the mix hitting topwater Spooks, Tsunami poppers and the Daiwa SP Minnnow out front. Tube and worm rigs are working in the rivers. (Happy birthday to captain Donny Sayward of Don’s First Light Charter.)

Do you guys think this is helpful? Is there anyone at the switch?

With this kind of detailed information (better than nothing), why would I buy your magazine???

Get away from your desk and do some fishing, or at least update your resume.

    1. I am enjoying the report thx

Very helpful information, I’m a angler of stripers nationwide & my main choice is top water action. Primarily Spooks.

This has got to be the poorest report have ever read, what did you do … just write and say the first imaginary things that came to mind?

Where are they hitting, what time of day and on what tide…..would love to know more detail and where to take my Boston Whaler and grandkids for some fun!

If you are going to give a fish report do it. Otherwise leave a big blank like the latest report. Thought about subscribing to magazine for fish reports and other information . I live up in Maine where apparently you don’t have a lot of subscribers.

Just wondering how many tackle shops or fisherman were contacted to compile that horrible report?

This is one report of what I was finding at the time from one solo angler , sorry I did not give exact locations. get off the computer and go fish yourself.

Now is the time of year in Maine to fill the freezer with bay Pollock. They are wonderful smoked or on the grill. I think there is a 24 fish limit. If you are in a wheel chair find a dock and sit there and catch a bunch. Best time 2 hours before high tide. I use a little electric three wheeler to get around.

If no one goes fishing then there’s not much to report. Sounds like some want to have everyone else do the gruntwork. [actually put time in fishing], to help those whom rely on others work to find them fish!!!!! GO FISH YOURSELF AND REPORT YOUR GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!

Fished the St Croix last night and nothing going on there for now,, Soon I hope. If anyone is catching Stripers in Machias or just south please report. This might be a great site if everyone puts a few good suggestions here. I agree to the first post, really,, you couldn’t come up with anything else on the fishing report..So, everyone just give a shout out and let us know in a general statement where and if there fish are hitting.. Have fun and take someone fishing..especially your kids…….

This by far is the worst season I’ve ever seen striper fishing since the 70’s
