Yes, the fish was eaten. Makos have a high food value, while I understand this is a topic some people are offended by, there is nothing wrong with the responsible harvesting of fish. I typically practice catch and release, but in this case we ended up taking the fish for the table. It was enjoyed by the crew and our families. It is very important to respect the ocean, but you can respect the ocean while enjoying its bounty.
