Fishermen off Provincetown are catching giant tuna by live-lining bluefish. Bluefin in the 60- t0 70-inch range are being caught while trolling east of Chatham. The canyon bite has been good with bigeye, yellowfin and blue marlin taking baits on the troll.

New York/New Jersey

Captain Tony of the Fox Sea Lady out of Montauk took a trip to the Coimbra for a number of mahi, and those that ventured out to the 100 square or Atlantis hooked up with yellowfins and bigeyes from 100 to 250 pounds.

Tackle Direct reported that the offshore bite has remained off the hook for Bigeye Tuna and there have been “loads” of Mahi on the pots in the southern canyons.  Craig recommends getting out there early and first.  Tilefish and Barrelfish have also been good along the canyons, but look for the muddy areas.

Jim’s Bait and Tackle in Cape May reported the inshore bite has been dead, with the green water that has continued to stay on the nearshore lumps.  There has been good action in the Canyons with the Baltimore and Wilmington giving up the best results on Marlin and Bigeye Tuna.
