Reminder: Winter drawdowns of both Woodcock Creek Lake and Canadohta Lake will begin in the near future. Woodcock Creek Lake is already lower just due to lack of rain—the boat dock is mostly out of the water so it will be more difficult to launch a boat.
Erie County
Walnut Creek Access Area
The boat anglers are getting Yellow Perch out in 51 – 62 feet of water off Walnut Creek and in 57 feet NW off Trout Run. Most have luck staying away from the perch pack and going either East or West of it. The boats have started to troll in front of Walnut Creek the past couple weeks, but not too many Steelhead are getting caught. Manchester hole has quite a few in it but probably more fishermen than fish. We need several days’ worth of steady rain. The water is very clear and low. We did get some rain last week but it wasn’t enough to do anything. It just soaked into the ground because we were so dry. Lake Erie’s water temperature as of this writing is 65 degrees.

Western Bradford & Sullivan Counties
North Branch of the Susquehanna River
Walleye are starting to bite more consistently as water temperatures start to drop. Anglers report consistent catch rates with silver and black crank baits.
Fall stocking of trout has occurred across the region over the past week and anglers are finding success on baits, lures and flies in many locations. Make sure to check the stocking schedule and enjoy the great fall scenery and great trout fishing today!
Make sure to use stealth when approaching likely holes, as the water is low and clear in many of our regions streams. The trout will be spooked easy, so a light line and gentle approach should make fooling them a little easier.
The list of stockings, separated by county, can be found here: http://fbweb.pa.gov/stocking/TroutStockingDetails_GIS.aspx
Lackawanna County
If you weren’t out fishing or boating this past week you missed some excellent fishing and boating opportunities. With the fall foliage area lakes and streams look great. At Lackawanna Lake the trout and bass were biting. Merli Sarnoski Lake, Lackawanna Lake and the Roaring Brook were all stocked with trout this past week.

Fall colors are everywhere, on the trees, on the trout and in the water! With recent rain events and wind, fall colors now blanket our streams. Leaves on the water make for challenging fishing; however, if you don’t mind cleaning off leaves you won’t be disappointed with the trout you catch this time of year!
