Lake Erie
Yellow Perch can still be caught out of Walnut Creek in about 61 Feet of water. Please just be careful because the lake this time of year is unpredictable.
Eastside tributaries
Eastside Streams are just starting to see steelhead since we’ve received some rain. 20 Mile Creek has fish in good numbers and 4 Mile does as well.
Walnut Creek, Elk Creek, and Crooked Creek
The lower stretches of Walnut, Elk, and Crooked Creek anglers have had success with Steelhead in the early morning hours in deeper water. When lake conditions allow shoreline fishing, anglers at the creek mouths are doing well on Steelhead. Boat anglers are also working the shallow waters on Lake Erie around the tributary mouths and have sporadic success. Steelhead have moved up beyond the nursery waters on Crooked Creek, south of SR 20 on Elk Creek, and south of SR 5 on Walnut Creek. Common violations encountered while on patrol are mostly property violations at Walnut Creek Access Area and also private property. Additionally, several fishing in nursery water violations have been written by officers on Crooked Creek.

The Walleye fishing on the Allegheny River should be productive in the Tionesta Pool. Tionesta Lake should be productive for musky especially trolling near the shore. Boaters using canoes and kayaks are reminded that they must wear a Life Jacket at all times from November 01 to April 30. This regulation is also applicable to boats less than 16 feet in length.

Northern Columbia and Luzerne Counties
Trout anglers got a boost in the last few weeks. Water levels and temperatures in area streams and lakes were at perilous marks until rains in late September brought things back to where we like them. Add to that a week of stocking by the Fish and Boat Commission last week and you have all the ingredients for a great time fishing for trout under a colorful canopy of autumn leaves. Harveys Lake, Harveys Creek, Sylvan Lake, Lake Took-A-While, Briar Creek and Moon Lakes all got a fresh supply of trout. And they sure are some nice fish. It is truly a great time to get out for trout fishermen.
Additionally, anglers on the Susquehanna River from Tunkhannock to Catawissa have been reporting some pretty great catches of Smallmouth Bass and Channel Cats. Anglers and boaters are reminded that Coldwater PFD Wear regulations will require that a person shall wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD or life jacket) during the cold weather months from November 1st through April 30th while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or any canoe or kayak . Check here for more information on this regulation: http://fishandboat.com/boatcrs/pfd/faq-pfd-cold.htm
Let’s keep things safe on the water this Fall!
Monroe County
With recent rains and cool temperatures, angling action had returned to the creeks and streams. Trout anglers report that the waters have been at a very good height and the trout have been hitting once the midday sun warms things up. Spinners, streamers and other lures being actively retrieved should bring anglers good success any warm afternoon.

Remember that PFDs are required to be onboard for each person. Children 12 years of age or younger must wear PFDs while on canoes and kayaks. The mandatory PFD wear regulation for all boats less than 16 feet in length and all canoes and kayaks is in effect again on Nov. 1.
