Monroe County
Trout anglers have been enjoying the unseasonal warm days to get some angling action in on the Brodhead Creek and McMichaels’s Creek. Successful anglers have been actively retrieving small metal spinners, casting upstream.
Make sure to take advantage of the mild weather before winter weather is here to stay!
Pike & Wayne Counties
Lake Wallenpaupack has been producing great Striped Bass fishing. Anglers are catching stripers anywhere from 22 inches to 43 inches using large shiners alone and black bass on artificial lures. Make sure to get out on the lake and enjoy some of the best fishing of the year.
The Lackawaxen River has cooled down, and with the temperature change, the trout have become active again. Trying using streamers, spinners, and small spoons with an active retrieve, as they will be more aggressive this time of year. You can find better success fishing off the bottom with a worm or paste bait.
Anglers across both counties are having good success catching pickerel and perch while fishing the smaller impoundments using a variety of artificial and natural baits.
Western Bradford and Sullivan County
Anglers are reporting good Walleye activity, specifically first light and the last hour before dark. Jigging and jerk baits are the favored methods.
*REMINDER FOR ALL BOATERS*: a person shall wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (life jacket) during the cold weather months from November 1st through April 30th while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or any canoe or kayak .
