If you use an inflatable type life jacket, keep in mind inflatable life jackets are not capable of working when the temperature is below 40° so don’t put your life at risk.

Wearing your life jacket is the best way to prevent a boating fatality and we recommend you wear one all year, not just during the mandatory wear period.

Southern Wayne & Pike Counties

Lack of rain has created low water conditions have hampered anglers as of late.

Monroe County

Trout anglers are taking advantage of warmer days to get some last minute angling action. Successful anglers have been targeting trout in the early afternoon as the water warms up. The low water conditions have made it difficult to find where they are holding but they are willing to bite on just about anything when found.

Susquehanna County

Anglers are catching nice Muskie in the Hallstead area of the Susquehanna River in Susquehanna County using large crank baits.

Northcentral Region

SPECIAL NOTE – Brown Trout are spawning. Their nests, known as “redds”, are usually found in loose gravel found on the stream bottom. You can usually identify the “redds” by looking for “clean gravel” areas. Make sure you look before you step and take care not to fish over spawning trout. Their eggs are the future trout population of the stream you are fishing!

Tioga County

Pine Creek

Water levels are great! Anglers are catching trout using caddis pupa patterns and streamer patterns.

Beechwood Lake

Fishing is slow, but anglers are catching trout. A few Crappie and Walleye are being caught.

Hamilton Lake

Anglers are catching trout using a variety of baits. A few anglers are catching trout using dry flies.

Clinton/Lycoming County

A few anglers are catching trout using streamers in deeper pools and near streambanks.

West Branch

Anglers are catching Walleye using live bait and trolling techniques.

Centre County

Olive streamer patterns, spinners and live minnows are working in deeper pools and along streambanks.

Just below Milesburg, anglers are catching bass using streamers and spinners.

Spring Creek

Anglers are catching trout using nymphs (e.g. pheasant tails, green weenie, sow bugs, black zebra midge).

Anglers are also catching trout using small streamers (e.g. size 6-10; olive or black colors).

Anglers, using spinning gear, are catching trout on lower Spring Creek.

Southeastern Region

Lakes, Rivers and Streams are still low across the region due to the lack of rain this season. Be careful while boating to avoid shallow areas that are typically deeper.
