The water levels are up, closing the Clark Boat Launches. On US Army Corp of Engineer Pittsburgh District Lakes, all occupants on boats under 16 feet in length and all canoes and kayaks are required to wear their Personal Flotation Device at all times.
Shenango River
The Shenango Outflow down to the Walnut Street Bridge is designated as a year round trout fishery, so a current trout/salmon stamp is required to fish that area regardless of the species of fish that you are targeting or harvesting.
Northeasatern Region
Lackawanna County
The hotter temperatures have slowed the fishing catch rates down. Anglers should concentrate their efforts on fishing during the earlier or later daylight hours. A couple of anglers are still concentrating their efforts on trout fishing at the Roaring Brook in Dunmore and Scranton. Anglers are still catching their limits of trout with little effort.
Remember to always take your trash with you. Keeping lands open to public fishing depends on it.

Fishing Creek
Water temperature is in the mid 50s. Water levels are up with a little color. Fishing is great, with lots of caddis, blue wing olives and cahills hatching.
Anglers are catching trout using mayfly, stonefly and caddis nymphs during the mid-day hours(e.g. Frenchie #14-16; gold bead pheasant tail #12-18; Prince #12-16; swimming ISO nymph #10-12). Thread bodied mayfly patterns are working well in shallow riffles.
Trout are rising, sporadically. Mid-day to evening hours are best. Carry the following dry flies, just in case you see a few trout rising (e.g. Slate Drake #10-12; midges #22-26, Bluewing Olives size #18-22, Tan Caddis #12-14; Light Cahill #12-14).

Little Schuylkill River
The Little Schuylkill River has had a low to moderate flow through the summer making it difficult to kayak. The fishing has been good in the deeper holes. Trout are being caught throughout the stocked areas on spinners, meal worms, and redworms. There has been little pressure on the stream lately, providing anglers with a peaceful fishing opportunity with plenty of quality trout fishing. The Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only Area of the Little Schuylkill near New Ringgold has been excellent for trout fishing in the last month. Some very large trout have been caught recently on various lures and wooly buggers have worked well for fly fishermen.
Tuscarora Lake
Tuscarora Lake has not seen many anglers lately but has seen quite a bit of boat activity. Kayakers have been using the lake in large numbers probably due to the quiet calm atmosphere.
Locust Lake
Locust Lake has had moderate fishing pressure with some good largemouth bass hitting on spinnerbaits, jigs, and nightcrawlers. The occasional trout is still being caught by boaters in the deeper parts of the lake.
Owl Creek Reservoirs
Owl Creek Reservoirs are full and have seen very few anglers or boats. Both reservoirs can be good for bass just remember they are catch and release only lakes.
