Tionesta Lake

Musky anglers have been successful trolling along the shoreline near the dam and near the Lackey Flats Camping Area.

Children 12 years of age and younger can enjoy some fall fishing opportunities on Ross Run. Trout are still present in some of the stream improvement devices, such as the jack dam near the upper bridge.

The Marienville Rod and Gun Club stocked Spring Creek with adult trout in early September. The daily limit is now three trout per day and a trout permit is required to keep trout.

Northeasatern Region

Monroe County

Largemouth bass are in a feeding frenzy on private community lakes. Anglers report great catches using live bait as the bass try to build up their winter reserves. The nice weather and warm temperatures have extended the feeding window for all fish.

Wayne and Pike County

Unusually warm weather and low water conditions have been conducive for panfish. Anglers have been having good luck catching bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass and perch using natural and artificial baits.

Western Bradford And Sullivan County

Western Bradford And Sullivan County

Hunters Lake and Mountain Lake

Hunters Lake and Mountain Lake received their fall planting of trout last week and early indications were that the fish were very active and hitting on a variety of baits. Gold spinners and spoons seemed to be a favorite. Remember that Stocked Trout Waters Open to Year-Round Fishing are now under the “extended season” size and creel limits. Size stays the same at 7” and creel limit is reduced to 3.

Fishing Creek

With low, clear water, fishing is challenging. Water temperature is in the 60s.

Fishing in the early morning hours, using nymphs is working best. Anglers are catching trout using mayfly, stonefly and caddis nymphs (e.g. Frenchie #14-16; gold bead pheasant tail #12-18; Prince #12-16; green weenie #12-16).

Approach key fishing areas from downstream and keep a low profile. Trout are easily spooked this time of year.

West Branch Susquehanna River

Bass and panfish are hitting live baits, crank baits and streamer patterns. Many of the fish are beginning to prepare for winter. Fishing should get better as cool temperatures creep back!

Centre County

Bald Eagle Creek

Anglers are catching trout using dry flies (e.g. tan caddis) and nymphs (e.g. green weenie).

Spring Creek

Water levels are low and clear. Water temperature is in the low 60s. Remember to keep a low profile and approach key fishing areas from downstream. At little bit of rain would be great!

Anglers are catching trout throughout the day, using nymphs (e.g. green weenie, hot spot sow bug, walt’s worm, small mayfly patterns, midge larvae patterns).

Dry dropper systems are working well (e.g. caddis on top and a wet ant underneath).

Blue Wing Olives(#18-22) and Tan Caddis (#14-16)dry flies will catch trout that are rising sporadically.

Southeastern Region

SE Montgomery County/West Philadelphia

Anglers are catching catfish, bass and carp on the Schuylkill River and small inland lakes. Fall trout stockings are coming up, and anglers can access the stocking schedules on our PA Fish and Boat Commission website (fishandboat.com) or our app (FishBoatPA), and are encouraged to show up to help stock their favorite streams. Many boaters are taking advantage of late season opportunities to get out on the water and there have been very few reported or observed incidents on area waterways. All anglers and boaters are reminded that our Commonwealth waterways are here for the enjoyment of everyone, and a sincere thanks goes out to the vast majority that show mutual respect for their fellow anglers and boaters.
