Boaters are reminded that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Slow No Wake Area is still in effect; it extends from the point to the dam. Boaters are also reminded that they must be 100 feet from shore while traveling faster than slow no wake speed, or in other words, just in gear. Anglers have been successful catching musky and panfish in both slow no wake areas. Anglers have been successful in the evening hours fishing near the dam with live bait and a bobber. They have been catching bluegill, perch and the occasional Smallmouth Bass. Nebraska Bridge has been productive in the evening hours for crappie and catfish. Anglers may fish from the bridge, however, should remain cautious due to passing traffic.
Tionesta Creek
Tionesta Creek from Kellettville to Nebraska Bridge is productive for Smallmouth Bass and musky fishing. Anglers can launch a canoe or kayak from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground at Kellettville and fish to Nebraska Bridge. Canoes and kayaks must be registered and have a launch permit to use the PFBC Access Area at Nebraska Bridge. Anglers/boaters can also take out at the U.S. Army Corps launch located near Jug Handle Run, which does not require registration or a permit.
Tionesta Outflow
Anglers have been successful fishing from the wall and the campground side of the outflow. Musky and Walleye have been caught recently from the wall; however, anglers should have a net on hand if they attempt to reel a fish in from the wall. The area located below the wall is still closed for repairs and is off limits for entry. Perch fishing has been productive on the campground side of the outflow using bobbers, fishing in the eddy near the concrete pier. Anglers and boaters should also be aware of the bridge construction which is currently taking place near the campground entrance.

The consistently warm weather has made fishing a bit more challenging but anglers that have been fishing in the early morning and later evening have been doing well with largemouth bass and panfish at the lake. Rubber worms and live bait have been the bait of choice.

There have been many reports of Northern Snakehead fish being caught and/or seen in the Philadelphia area. Most of them have been caught historically at FDR park in the lakes; however, we have been receiving reports from the Delaware River and Schuylkill Rivers as well. If you believe that you have come across one, please take a photograph of the fish and contact the PA Fish and Boat Commission via our website at http://www.fishandboat.com/Fish/PennsylvaniaFishes/Pages/Snakehead.aspx and report the fish at the contact information provided there. Make sure you include the county, body of water, average size of the fish and if possible, a photograph. Please be aware: you cannot possess live snakeheads in the Commonwealth. They must be killed immediately.
