Fall is Musky time at Nockamixon Lake! If you are new to musky fishing, fall is a great time to hit the water looking for these trophy game fish. Gear and fish handling are important factors to consider when taking up musky angling. Do some online reading on musky handling before heading out. The time to learn about proper fish handling is not when landing your first fish. Have your net and release tools at the ready. A good net, long needle-nose pliers, hook cutters, and jaw spreaders are required equipment. Use at least 20lb test, 30lb is best, especially for beginners. Use a 12-inch heavy abrasive-resistant leader to prevent expensive bite-offs. Use good quality gear; hooks, swivels and leaders. Double-blade spinners, topwater and crankbaits and baited jig heads are the preferred lures at the lake. Muskies on the lake will follow the food source. The pelagic baitfish that the musky feed on are going to be in the main body of the lake and finding the food source will lead you to the gamefish.

Chester County

Anglers are catching a few nice perch and sunfish at Chambers Lake. Boat anglers are out-fishing shore anglers which seems to usually be the case at this lake. A favorite and most productive method is to fish with fathead minnows about 4-6 feet below a pencil bobber or from a boat. Set the minnow up about a foot off the bottom and try to stay near the bottom anyway, in 12 feet of water. Remember that Chambers is a Panfish Enhancement Waters lake, so sunfish must be 7 inches, and perch and crappie have to be 9 inches to be kept.
