Fishing Report for Cape Cod

Presidents Day weekend brought lots of wind, snow, and surprisingly good fishing to Cape Cod.
Over at Eastmans Sport and Tackle they reported anglers finding luck with some holdover trout at Grews pond.
The OTW crew ran into plenty of aggressive pickerel over the weekend, as well as a few largemouth.

The first 2019 largemouth took my shiner quick at a nice dusk bite.

Throwing some live shiners in open water seems to be a solid bet right now.
The freshwater bite was most definitely on the past week. Don’t let the snow and cold nights fool you!

Chris Belekewicz ran into a near 5 pound smallmouth bass on a perch patterned Rapala, while trolling for trout.

Fishing Forecast for Cape Cod

With the majority of ponds free of ice, the warmer weather we’re in for should increase the freshwater bite. Get to your local bait shop, fill that bucket up with shiners and get some floats out. This week feels even more fishy to me than last.. and I wasn’t wrong last week. February isn’t so bad. Let us know how you do this week!
