Long Island – New York Fishing Report – February 21, 2019

Fishing Report For Long Island

It was tough to get much info from the shops this week. However, some fishermen are taking advantage of open freshwater. The Connetquot River is a popular winter option for trout.
The Laura Lee Fleet is sailing out of the Captree Boat Basin and fishing Offshore Wrecks this Saturday 2/23/19 6AM to approximately 4PM targeting cod, haddock, and ling. The forecast is looking good with calm seas predicted. Last time they got out they did well on cod and ling. Have you been fishing? Please contact me at garrett@onthewater.com and let me know if you’ve been hooking up. We’ll be happy to feature you in a report!

Can you drop mentioning the Connetquot for a month or two. Reports, articles and casual mentions may be good for the park’s revenue line but you are participating in the #1 fresh water spot burn I have ever seen. There is only room there for 10 fishers at a time and one of those spots is completely unproductive.
    Thank You.
