Captain Mike, of the Frances Fleet in Narragansett, set sail with a great group of anglers on Saturday, who have had some bad cabin fever after what has been a tough winter. After getting out on the grounds they picked away at quite a few fish, although many were just short. They were able to turn up a handful of nice keepers, along with some ling and cunners that rounded out the catch. Be sure to call the office to reserve a spot!
Captain Russ, of The Seven B’s in Snug Harbor, RI said that the weather has kept them from getting out recently, but they are monitoring the weather and will put a trip together as soon as the opportunity arises. Be sure to check in with the office to see if/when they will be sailing. There have been quite a few years where March has been a very productive month, and they are hoping history will repeat itself once again this year.
After taking February off, the Viking Fleet out of Montauk, NY will be heading on a Nantucket wrecks trip on March 22 targeting cod and other groundfish.

Capt. Bobby Quinn on the Ocean Explorer out of Belmar, NJ is wrapped his winter tog season and sailed on Saturday and Wednesday, catching some keepers on both trips. He will resume sailing on April 1 when the New Jersey tog season reopens.
Capt. Matt Sosnsowski on the Norma K III out of Point Pleasant Beach has elected to stay at the dock this weekend to continue working on the boat. He’s heading to the boatyard on Tuesday but will be back out after blackfish come April 1.

Capt. Howard Bogan reported a good trip this past Saturday aboard the Big Jamaica. Anglers had to contend with a pretty stiff current, but high hooks still managed more than 40 jumbo porgies. There were also some pollock, ling, hake and even a monkfish mixed in with the porgies. Mark Myricks from Jersey City won the pool with an 8-pound pollock.

you should consider updating this from time to time, its mid july
