Mandatory Cold Weather Life Jacket Wear
Mandatory cold weather life jacket wear began on November 1st. This means that a person must wear a US Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD or life jacket) while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or any canoe or kayak from November 1st through April 30th.

Presque Isle Bay
Anglers are catching Yellow Perch from both the North and South Piers, DonJon, and Dobbins Landing in good numbers.
Lake Erie
Anglers are catching Lake Trout off the mountain North of the North East Marina.
Anglers are catching Smallmouth Bass in both the bay and in Lake Erie.
Lawrence County
Neshannock Creek and Big Run
The stocked trout in the nearby streams are preferring different bait than in the lakes. In the Neshannock Creek and Big Run, the trout seem to prefer spinner style baits with a gold or silver spoon.
Bessemer Lake and Cascade Quarry
In Bessemer Lake and Cascade Quarry, trout are more likely to bite on dough baits in either chartreuse, orange, or brown.

Northern Carbon and Southern Monroe Counties
Anglers fishing the Brodhead Creek have seen success for Rainbow and Brown Trout using salmon eggs, spinners, and wet flies. A pink squirmy wormy has been the hot fly recently with multiple fish being caught on one throughout the creek.
Hickory Run Lake has been giving up nice catches of Brook Trout using spinners, minnows, and paste baits. Anglers are reminded that Hickory Run Creek, Sections 4 and 5, is a special regulations stream designated as Catch and Release Artificial Lures Only. Anglers are also reminded that Mud Run, Section 2, and McMichael Creek, Section 5, are both designated as Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only.
Sullivan County
Trout season is here and anglers targeting stocked trout are reporting consistent success with silver spinners throughout the county. Bait anglers using mealworms and live minnows have also had good results.

Centre County
Black Moshannon
The Panfish action is heating up in the lake as we transition into Spring. Anglers are currently reporting finding multiple species up in the shallows. Many areas of the lake are easily targeted from the shoreline and provide a great angling experience for all. Bluegill, Pumpkin Seeds, and Yellow Perch are currently being reported. Anglers having success are using both live baits and paste baits fished with a jig or under a bobber. Now is a great time to get outdoors and go fishing as the action will continue to improve in the coming weeks!

Tioga County
Pine Creek Water Trail
Pine Creek Water Trail – Boaters, anglers, canoers, and kayakers BEWARE! The Pine Creek Water trail between Ansonia and Blackwell is currently experiencing above-average flows. Multiple strainers present dangerous hazards throughout the waterway and an increased potential for boating accidents. Remember to remain safe and take necessary precautions prior to leaving for your trip. Some steps you can take to ensure safety include – scouting ahead before making your trip, leave a float plan with someone, check the weather, and dress appropriately and in layers to account for variable conditions. Also, the mandatory cold weather wear period is still in effect until May 1st, please remember to wear your life jacket!
Pine Creek Keystone Select
The Keystone Select area on Pine Creek is currently a great location to consider for your next outing! Recently, a good number of trophy-sized trout are being caught and released in this section. Successful anglers are reporting wet flies, nymphs, and streamers as being effective. Other anglers are finding success using gold-colored spinners and trout-colored crankbaits. Remember live bait, paste baits, and eggs are prohibited to possess or use in this area, and currently, trout cannot be harvested.
