Delmarva
Chunking is producing good tuna action for canyon day-trippers in the Mid-Atlantic. Billfish have been sporadic, but some large blue marlin are around, including a 500-plus pounder that won the HUK Big Fish Classic.
New Jersey/New York
Yellowfin are scarce at the moment off New Jersey and New York, besides a few turning up on some of the mid-shore grounds mixed in with school bluefin. The best action has been the giant bluefin feeding close to the beach and presenting anglers with some spinning rod opportunities.
There’s a good bluefin bite 15 miles off Montauk, but for the canyons, the best move has been running way east to Hydrographers.

New England
Anglers have found steady action on 30- to 40-inch bluefin south of Block Island, both on the troll and on the jig. East of Chatham is showing signs of life with giant tuna and large recreational sized fish around in earnest. Giant tuna fishing in Northern New England has been steady at Stellwagen and Jeffries.
