Northeast Offshore Fishing Report - September 20, 2024

The canyons were pumping out yellowfin, bigeye and swordfish, while from Cape Cod north, giant fishing and topwater action were excellent before the Nor'Easter blew in.

The Reel Deal crew was into some quality bluefin off Cape Cod before weather and sea conditions took a turn for the worse.

With a strong Northeast wind settling in for a few days, it’s a good time to re-rig, re-organize, and re-group for the best of the fall offshore fishing.

Delmarva

At the end of last week, boats out of Ocean City, Maryland continued to catch good numbers of marlin, and as the week progressed, mahi, yellowfin, and even some wahoo kept drags singing at the mid-Atlantic canyons.


New Jersey/New York

Mahi fishing is excellent while the mid-shore tuna continue to play hide and seek. The canyons, especially the Hudson, are pumping out yellowfin, with some bigeye and swordfish.

New England

Jig and pop opportunities continued for anglers off Rhode Island, while the giant fishing, along with some topwater action on 55- to 70-inch fish, kept fishermen busy from Cape Cod north.
