Delmarva

White marlin flags were flying high in Sunset Marina over Labor Day weekend, as double-digit marlin catches were the norm, not the exception. Some boats caught as many as 40 white marlin!


New Jersey/New York

When captains can find the yellowfin, they’ve been some of the biggest we’ve seen here in the Northeast. More 60-inch fish are showing up off Montauk, with some much bigger than that!

There are mahi aplenty around floating structure from the canyons to just a couple miles off the beach. Most are chickens, but there have been som 15-pound-plus fish milling around.

New England

Boats descended on Stellwagen Bank and Cape Cod Bay for the re-opening of commercial tuna fishing, and two seperate giant tuna tournaments. Fish of 905 and 858 took the respective tournaments. Boats out of Rhode Island continued to catch good numbers of tuna, with more 60-inchers, on jigs.
