NJBBA Youth Surfcasting Tournament

Just got this press release from the New Jersey Beach Buggy Association about their kids surf fishing tournament coming up in a couple weeks at IBSP

Kids Surf Fishing Tournament NJBBA
Young anglers, 16 years and younger, can enjoy a great day of fishing and fun on Island Beach State Park on September 10.

The New Jersey Beach Buggy Association will be hosting the NJBBA Youth Surf Fishing Tournament on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Island Beach State Park bathing beach area #1. This not-to-be-missed, free event is for children 16 and under, draws an average of 125 participants each year. In addition to fishing on the beach, the participants are given the opportunity to learn knot tying, casting, fishing first aid & beach safety. Registration will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. All registered participants will receive a colorful t-shirt as well as “goodie bags.” Each child also gets to choose from a large variety of gifts donated by local businesses. Prizes are awarded to the children catching fish in different categories. It’s a great chance for family and friends to bond and enjoy the best of New Jersey’s beaches. We invite all to bring their fishing poles, bait and tackle and take part in a wonderful day.

You don’t even need to worry about packing a lunch because NJBBA provides that as well. Anyone who would like to make a donation to the event please contact the chairperson, Tim Burden at  201-983-2300.
