StriperFest 2011

StriperFest 2011 was a great success. In case you missed it, here are a collection of photos from this year’s event.

The Striper Cup, awarded to the team with the highest 10-fish point total.

The weather was great, the band was rocking, and StriperFest was jam-packed full of striper-fishing fanatics.

DeepWater Blues Band
The DeepWater Blues band performed classic rock favorites for the crowd.

Striper Cup participants dropped off their Golden Tickets at the entrance for their shot at winning the 20-foot North Coast fishing boat, outfitted with a Yamaha motor and Lowrance electronics.

StriperFest attendees cruised the aisles under the tents, checking out the great products available from Striper Cup sponsors.

Lowrance displayed their latest fish-finding electronics.

Kids, young and young-at-heart, enjoyed the fishing simulator.

Face Painting
The face painting station stayed busy all day.

The Black Dog provided the delicious food for StriperFest.

StriperFest Fun
The atmosphere was fun and festive on a beautiful fall afternoon on Cape Cod.

Jamie Douglas from the Black Dog played the bagpipes and escorted the Golden Tickets to the stage.

Craig Cantelmo from Van Staal presented Shore Division Angler of the Year, Chris Buchta, with a replica of his largest fish done by Fish Unlimited Taxidermy.

Greg Myerson hoists the mount of his pending world record 81.88-pound striped bass, caught on a Quantum Cabo reel he won in the 2010 Striper Cup. The big bass earned Myerson "Striper of the Year" and "Boat Division Angler of the Year" titles.

The 10 monthly shore and boat division winners, including Keith Salisbury with his grand prize $10,000.

Last year's Striper Cup Winners, Team Reel Deal, took the 3rd Place spot this year.

Two-time Striper Cup winners, Team Striper, took second place this year.

Tim Sheehan from Budweiser presented the Striper Cup to the 2011 winners...

    It was my first time joining the Striper Cup and attending StriperFest, I had a great time. The beer was cold, the chowder was hot and the ladies were all keepers!!! Can’t wait till next year…

    the canal bite has been great if you have the patience to hang in there.alot of big fish were caught iv seen a few fish in the forty lb range and i caught several in the 30 lb range.my advise is go low.
