UPDATE: Some folks have reported issues with the submission form, so we are extending the contest until 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Please email your entries (up to 3) to photos@onthewater.com
To ring in the New Year at OnTheWater.com, we’re going to have the first of what we hope to be many contests and giveaways here on the blog.

First up, we’re giving away a pile of brand-new Brecks spoons! Brecks makes the famous Mooselook Wobbler and the Williams Wabler spoon. To show off some new finishes in their Dartee, Flasher and Whitefish spoons, and two brand-new designs, the Nipigon and the Yukon, they’ve supplied us with a trove of lures to give away to our blog readers.
Here’s how to win: Submit your best trout or salmon photos here, and we’ll award $75 worth of lures to the winning photographer and $50 worth of lures to each of two runners-up. Trophy shots, release shots, and fishing action shots will all be accepted, and we’ll keep the contest open until 5 p.m. on January 20, 2012.
Good Luck!

I am getting an error when uploading pics – Sorry, only humans may write for us. (The color of the sky is blue.)
I do enter the word blue in the box – am I missing something?
Sean
Hi Sean, It seems to be working – perhaps the photo is too large? Try emailing it to photos@onthewater.com. Thanks!
Hello,
I would like to submit some photos for the contest. However instead of sending a compressed file with a limited set of photos.
I thought it might be easier for the both of us if I forward my website address link instead: http://www.thelocalhookupma.com
My website (non commercial) is just a personal digital journal of mine and displays many of my catches and reports from the last 4 plus years.
It also features friends that I have taken out & help put on fish & some followers who submit their own catches.
As soon as you open the website you will notice immediately that I’m a multi-species angler but you will also notice allot of trout and salmon pictures.
The links on the left bar are categorized by species, just select the trout & salmon species pictures you want to view.
You may also want to click on the reports pages for more trout & salmon content.
Picture content includes: All the trout & salmon species in Massachusetts, including trophy landlocked salmon and lake trout from the Quabbin reservoir.
Broodstock Atlantic Salmon, Tiger Trout, Golden (Palomino) Trout, Brook Trout, Rainbow trout and more, caught in local MA waters.
Also some giants from NY waters, Browns, Steelhead, Coho & King Salmon.
Some very beautiful Kokanee salmon (landlocked sockeye) in fall spawning colors) I caught in CT.
If you feel any of the pictures are worthy as possible contenders to win the lures, feel free to contact me and let me know which. And if there are any photo’s displayed that you are interested in but might not be sized adequately for possible print, I can pull the originals (which are larger un-sized and un-cropped images) off my storage media.
If this method is not acceptable for contest submission, please let me know and I will choose a set of digital pictures, compress and send them.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
George Dias
George – Great website! Can you pick your three favorite photos and email them to photos@onthewater.com? That would be ideal. Things we like: good-looking fish, happy anglers, and nice scenery Thanks!
I also tried to submit, with no success. It seemed to kick me out when I wrote “blue” in the last column. Photo was 2.7 MB. Also, can I submit multiple photos at a time?
Hi Gert – try emailing to photos@onthewater.com please pick your favorite 3 photos to submit. Thanks!
I believe I entered a picture into the contest. Is there a way I can view the entries so that I may verify my entry is set?
Thank you
Justin
Hi Justin – I don’t see your entry – can you email it to photos@onthewater.com?
