Many people would assume fishing to be an older man’s hobby, but then again, age is just a number. My name is Ben Taylor, and I am a 16-year-old high school student at Tabor Academy from Falmouth, MA. For as long as I can remember, I have been fishing around the Cape and islands and have developed a passion for being on the water. Fishing with friends and sharing all the experiences that come with fishing makes fishing special to me. No matter the conditions, or amount of fish we reel in, it’s a blast every time our lines hit the water, which is what fishing is all about. At a very early age my uncle, Capt. David Taylor introduced me to fishing. He has taught me everything from how to rig a rod, to driving a boat and he is still teaching me to this day. Although fishing is generally thought of as an older man’s past time, my goal is to show that fishing appeals to adults and teens alike, even though the outlooks and routines may be different.
We created Frenzy Fishing to capture the thrill of teen fishing through a blog and video series. A scarce number of teenagers think of themselves as avid fisherman, which makes Frenzy Fishing unique. Striped Bass, Bluefish, and later, False Albacore, will compose the majority of our catches, and compliment our story. I hope you enjoy the future articles, and please view our first YouTube episode below to learn more about fishing from a new point of view.
