· With the start of fluke season in Connecticut this past week, we have received some excellent pictures of some nice doormats. Anglers are catching fish in 20-35 feet of water on cut squid.

· We’ve also received reports of great keeper stripers from the Housatonic, Connecticut and lower Farmington rivers with fish up to 38 inches. We even got a report of some bluefish being caught.

One angler said : “I catch most of my stripers on fresh chunked bait on the bottom in anywhere from 3-10 feet of water. With the water temps coming up right around 58, the fish have turned on and are hitting the chunk baits. Most of my keepers are caught in the lower Farmington. Also getting some big fish on black Slug-gos as well as bubblegum Slug-gos.”
