Not much going on in the surf yesterday with only a few Blues to speak of. 10 Year old Jake Schabacker came in with a nice 23.5 inch, 4.35 lb fluke (pictured above) he caught near the BB. Another customer came in yesterday and said him and his buddy had 8 keeper Fluke up to 27 inches “Near” the BB on killies.
There were some short bass by the Rt. 37 bridge on small swimmers and there are still cocktail size blues roaming the river hitting bunker chunks, metal, small swimmers and poppers. Crabbing is picking up in the river around the Island Heights area. Remember if you are fishing or crabbing in that area you need to have a badge.
