Black Sea Bass Recreational Fishing Opens June 23rd
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced that new recreational fishing regulations for black sea bass are now in effect.
2018 New York State Black Sea Bass Recreational Regulations:
(These Changes Only Apply to Recreational Fishing)
Open Season: June 23 – August 31
Possession Limit: 3 fish
Minimum Size Limit: 15 inches
Open Season: September 1 – December 31
Possession Limit: 7 fish
Minimum Size Limit: 15 inches
Please remember before going fishing, you must enroll in the NYS Recreational Marine Fishing Registry.

The 9/1 through 12/31 information is incorrect the limit during that period will be 7 also at 15” minimum size
