The New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council is seeking public comment on the 2024 NJ Recreational Summer Flounder options included in the table below.
There are 6 possible options to choose from. Status quo is not an option; it is the 2023 regulation and for reference purposes only.
Written comments will be accepted through March 4, 2024 (11:59 p.m.) to njmarinefishpubliccomment@dep.nj.gov.
Submitted comments will become part of the public record for the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council meeting taking place on March 7, 2024 (5 p.m.) at the Atlantic County Library, Galloway Township Branch, 306 East Jimmie Leeds Rd, Galloway, NJ. The meeting will also be held virtually if you cannot attend in person. The link to register to attend virtually will be posted on the Marine Fisheries Council Meetings webpage at least three days prior to the meeting.
I like option 41. I’ll support any regulation as long as it works. I have a question. Enforcement seems difficult. Why aren’t moratoriums used for certain areas? It would be easier to monitor.
I vote for option #32
OPTION 32 LOOKS LIKE THE BEST IDEA TO ME. MORE DAYS TO FISH IS MORE IMPORTANT THE SIZE.
Option #32 looks like the best of all the proposals..
Option 32
Option 32 would be the best option for fishermen and the fishery.
option 32.
Option 57 is the option I prefer.

Option 32 is good by me
Option 32 but one of the fish should be 17.5 inches.
Option 32 sounds good to me,Dario back bay fishing is excellent early! 18” fish is the right size!
Option. 32. is best for fisherman and the fishery.
