Our down east hulls’ classic design, paired with the modern build, make our boats fuel-efficient. Eastern 27 Islander

Our 27 Islander is roomy enough for day-tripping with a large family or a comfortable week of cruising for a couple. Behind her gracefully-flared bow, she carries a 10′3” beam on a hard-chine hull that rises easily onto plane with twin 150-hp outboards or a single 250-300hp outboard. This model retains its dry, soft-riding characteristics at useful speeds for which Eastern boats are known. An optional aft Bimini top can shade the upholstered transom bench seat, and a bow thruster can ease the docking process.

Belowdecks, a forward V-berth converts to a settee with table or a spacious double bunk with the table lowered. An enclosed head provides a Vacu-flush toilet and a shower. Opposite to starboard is a hanging locker. A berth under the mid-deck presents additional sleeping capacity or capacious storage. A flat-screen TV for the cabin is standard, with reverse-cycle air conditioning optional. The mid-deck provides a galley-up aft of the helm seat. To port is a double forward-facing companion seat opposite the helm, with a double lounge seat and an aft-facing cooler seat behind.

Eastern 22 Center Console
Smooth Efficient Ride Perfect for Angling or Beach Picnics
Eastern developed the roomy 22 Center Console design from their successful 248 Downeast-style hull with 8’6” beam. The 22 hull combines a sharp bow entry with a soft chine, a relatively flat bottom aft, and a keel for good tracking on course. A molded bottom strake offers lift while knocking down spray. The hull shape provides a soft, smooth, efficient ride at speeds in the ‘teens and twenties with only a 115-hp outboard.
Seating includes cushioned forward benches with storage, a double-wide cushion in front of the console, and rear cushioned seating on either side of the transom splashwell.

The 22 CC is big and strong enough to take on snotty near-coastal waters safely for hard-core anglers and explorers while providing a spacious shallow-draft platform for beach picnics and sunset cruises. She offers room for seating and storage both fore and aft, plus a large console with space for a portable toilet inside and room on top for serious electronics. For weather protection, add a T-top and a folding bow dodger.

Eastern 22 Sisu Hardtop
Smooth Efficient Ride Perfect for Angling or Beach Picnics
The 22 Sisu is legendary among Downeast hulls. Sisu is a Finnish word that means stamina, fortitude, and “guts”. This little beauty is aptly named. Originally drawn by Royal Lowell in the 1970s, her basic design is arguably the most seaworthy ever for a small powerboat. Modern composite materials plus a couple of design tweaks have made her even better. Recessed chines damp spray and add dynamic lift to her round chines as she accelerates, while an outboard bracket bolted to her transom frees up an outrageous amount of space in her cockpit.

In continuous production for more than thirty years, Eastern’s Sisu 22 is a classic overachiever. Choose a traditional framed “bassboat” windshield with Bimini top at the helm or an open-sided hardtop pilothouse. On deck, the only fixtures are helm and companion pedestal seats mounted on storage boxes that double as aft-facing lower seats. The rest of the cockpit can accommodate a full-transom fishbox with a cushioned seat on top, a couple of folding chairs, or a portable livewell. The open pilothouse offers shelter from sun and weather, with optional roll-down sides and mounting space for “rocket launcher” rod holders. The cabin offers 6-foot-9-inch V-berths with a portable toilet (pumpout available) and 5-feet-9-inches of headroom. Performance is strong with a 115-hp four-stroke outboard.
