Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Outbarb
Traditional hooks place the barb on the inside of the hook bend. With certain techniques, like jigging, chunk baiting, and bottom fishing, if your line becomes limp or goes slack it could get entangled by the hook barb and possibly be nicked or cut. The outbarb design eliminates that risk. But there’s more. Tests have proven that when an outbarb is combined with Gamakatsu’s circle hook design, it results in deeper penetration and a higher hook retention rate. Think about it: a barb on the inner side of a hook bend is somewhat protected. A barb on the outside of the hook bend will come into contact with whatever flesh it touches and prevent movement in the opposite direction from which it entered. Consistently, Gamakatsu researchers and pro staffers documented increased retention of hooked species.

SPRO Power Bucktail
The SPRO Power Bucktail was designed for trophy-sized game fish. The Power Bucktail features an oversized O’Shaughnessy Saltwater hook and is wrapped with a large amount of bucktail hair. The bucktail hair helps keep the jig buoyant off the bottom and out of the rocks. The Power Bucktail works great for surf casting or casting and jigging for larger game-fish like Stripers, Cobia or even Snapper and Grouper.

Love Those new bucktails.
And the outbarb Gamakatsu will be needed for 2020.
New boat for stripers in Maine. This would be a perfect tackle package for when they finally make it UP to “Down East”.
Thanks guys and keep up the good work!!
with the new circle hook law I now could use these!!!
Spro bucktails are class act. Reliable, go to bucktail. Outboard barns, interesting, never tried. Hopefully safer on the fingers.
I love using Spro when I am “On the Water”. Great for fluke and sea bass! I use Gamakatsu on all of my hand made rigs too! I love this prize set!
This would be a great enhancement to my tackle box. Both are excellent products. #stripersbeware
I use SPRO all the time. They’re the best! I use circle hooks for all sorts of fishing and Gamakatsu is real quality.
Good Luck People!
When will the winner be announced?
Gamakatsu has always been my hook of choice no matter the type of hook. Other brands have “straightened” when hooked into bigger fish causing the fish to get off. Never lost one with a Gamakatsu and a good hook set
