I have used many different surf rods over the years. I have snapped many casting within the tolerances of those surf rods I have used. I would love to try a temple fork to see if it can with stand casting for strippers on the cape and in the Cape Cod canal.
It says designed for lures in the 1/2 oz-2 oz range, that seemed kinda low so I checked there website and it says this rod is rated at 3-8oz for the 11′
I only entered this because I could use this rod. I absolutely love surf casting. This rod would let me put it out there with little to no effort. Thanks for the chance to win. I will video the first fish i catch with it.
Have a TFO 9ft., 2 piece 9Wt. fly rod and TFO fly reel and love them, great outfit for salt water fly fishing. The 11ft.spinning rod is bound to be the same quality.
I own five TFO fly rods, they are all fantastic. I’d love to own a TFO surf rod, based on my first hand experience with this manufacturer’s products, I know it would be an awesome stick !!!
Would really love to have this surf fishing rod because I’ve used even ugly sticks and I’ve broke them trying to cast out and would love to try the temple fork rod .
hi if I win I don’t know what to say but a hold out thank you I can’t affordit I would love it that way I will not be tease by the river dam I got two walmart fishing rod thank you and have nice day
Most folk think surf rods are only used from the ocean beaches. I use a similar length surf rod off the beaches of Lake Ontario in the spring and fall to toss 1/2 – 3/4 ounce Cleo spoons at the Steelhead and Brown Trout when they venture in close at these times. I also use this same rod off the beaches in NJ when vacationing there.
I need a new rod and would love this one. If I win this rod I will tell everyone in my club and see fishing. I will get the word out! Tight lines! Stay safe!
2 more weeks come on stripers!
Sounds like a great rod. Been thinking about a new 11ft rod. I’ve been casting St. croix rods for years. I love my Avid 10ft I bought last year and have been leaning towards St.Cr’s Legend. But if I don’t win (fingers crossed) I will look at this new T.F.O. Rod.
Don’t take my reply as offense but I would have to try casting one before I would buy one . Don’t get me wrong I like free raffle prizes as well as the next fisherman . I want to thank you all for letting me enter you giveaway. But if I do win I will cast it and give you my honest opinion about how I like or dislike the temple fork surf 1102
I have two 10’6″, one 7’6″, 9wt and a 10wt. In the last three years I Bought a wife, had a house and married a kid…wait. Haven’t had any money for fishing since, would be great to add to my TFO collection because who knows when i’ll ever get another $269 that the wife doesn’t know about! Thanks for the chance T.F.O. Keep up the good work and quality product…maybe a beefier stick in the works for throwing big plugs/jigs in the ditch? (little more back bone than the 10’6″)
Great Surf Rods are multi generational. I still use my 5Star 11′ Mitchell Heavy I bought in 1969 at 2Guys in Oakhurst NJ for tossing whole bunker way past the breakers. I could use a lighter, newer technology TFO surf rod for casting poppers, metals, swimmers, etc., for hours and hours…..:)
Would love to own one I surf fish 1 or 2 days a week i am 72 yrs old need all the help I can get it easier casting would certainly help thanks for the chance of letting me try to win one
