Recipe: Hake Sliders

This easy-to-make hake slider is the perfect family meal for busy weeknights, or lazy summer afternoons on the back deck. Packed with lean protein and omega-3s, fish sandwiches sliders are a delicious way to support growing minds and your Massachusetts fishing fleet.  

Hake Sliders (Serves 4)

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Hake Fillet, cut into sandwich-size portions hake, portioned burger-size
  • Ritz Crackers, crumbled
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 Slices American Cheese, halved
  • 4 Buns
  • 4 Pieces Bib Lettuce
  • Tartar Sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Fish:
    Pre-heat over to 450 degrees.
    Dip each piece of the fillet in melted butter before rolling in Ritz cracker crumbs until all sides are coated.
  2. Bake:
    Place fish on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, adding a half-slice of cheese to each piece halfway through.
  3. Assemble:
    Arrange fish on the bun, add bib lettuce and tartar sauce.
  4. Serve:
    Serve with chips, watermelon, and fresh lemonade for a perfect summer meal!
