Simms G3 Pro Guide Waders are 60% Tougher than Previous Models

Simms just rolled out the biggest update to its G3 waders in more than 20 years. Simms originally built this line for full-time guides, waders that were tough enough to survive seasons of abuse, and comfortable enough to be worn nearly every day.  Over two decades, Simms has continually updated and improved the G3 lineup, making them tougher and more comfortable.

The big change on the new G3 Pro Guide wader is the fabric. The lower section is now a four-layer GORE-TEX Pro, and in Simms’ in-house lab testing it showed a 60% improvement in resistance to pinhole punctures compared to the previous version. The upper sticks with a three-layer GORE-TEX Pro that Simms says stays breathable and comfortable for long days on the water. Beyond the fabric, Simms reworked the patterning for a better overall fit, redesigned the suspender system, and added new hardware to make adjustments easier. The result is what Simms is calling it the toughest, most comfortable, and most refined G3 they have ever built.

Stocking foot models of the waders run $800, while zipper options of the stocking foot (G3Z Pro) cost $900. Simms has also made a boot-foot zipper model of the G3Z Pros, and those cost $1,100.

Zippered passthrough handwarmer pockets with upgraded micro-fleece for enhanced warmth and quick dry time for wet hands.

Built-in low-profile back belt loop to secure the included high quality neoprene wading belt.

Self-gathering back yoke construction for improved mobility and room when layering for warmth.
