This year’s striper cup comes to a close the way it always does, with a party on the water! StriperFest, On The Water’s season-ending celebration, returns to Marine Park on the Falmouth waterfront this Saturday, September 26. It’s a full day of fishing seminars, gear from the biggest brands in the sport, raffles, food, and live music, all leading up to the moment everyone waits for: the grand prize boat drawing, where one lucky Striper Cup angler drives home a fully-rigged Skeeter.
The Grand Prize: A Skeeter SX221
Every Striper Cup season builds to one moment. This year’s grand prize is a Skeeter SX221, rigged and ready to fish, loaded with SIMRAD electronics and powered by a Yamaha outboard. The boat is raffled off live on stage at StriperFest, and every adult Striper Cup registrant holds a Golden Ticket that doubles as an entry into the drawing. You have to be there to win, so plan to stick around for the big reveal.
Seminars, Raffles, and Games
Between demo rides, there’s plenty to see. A seminar series brings On The Water editors and pro captains to the stage to break down surfcasting, trophy striped bass, reading your electronics, and more. The Cow Gallery puts the season’s biggest bass on display, raffles run throughout the day for even more gear, and the biggest names in fishing set up shop so you can get hands-on with the latest tackle. Add live music, cold drinks, and great food right on the waterfront, and it’s as much a celebration as it is a tournament.
Charity Raffles Supporting Wings for Falmouth Families
StriperFest is once again partnering with Wings for Falmouth Families to benefit the community through special charity raffles. Three premium angling packages—a Kayak & Surf Package, a Boat Package, and a Fly Package—are now in the drawing. All proceeds go directly to Wings for Falmouth Families to support their mission in our community. Raffle tickets will be available throughout the day at the event.
Know Before You Go
A few things to keep in mind before you head down. Personal bags up to 16″ x 16″ x 8″ are welcome and subject to search at the gate. Low-profile chairs are fine as long as the backs are under 28″ and the legs under 8″, and lawn blankets are encouraged.
Leave the coolers, outside food and drink, alcohol, beach umbrellas, pop-up tents, and drones at home. StriperFest is a no-smoking, no-pets venue, with the exception of service animals. And if you won a weekly Striper Cup prize you haven’t picked up yet, swing by the prize booth in the retail tent.
Where’s My Golden Ticket?
Golden Tickets are mailed to every adult Striper Cup entrant and should arrive ahead of the event. Your Golden Ticket is both your free admission to StriperFest and your entry into the grand prize boat raffle. If yours hasn’t shown up, email stripercup@onthewater.com and the team will have one waiting for you at the gate.
Make a Weekend of It
StriperFest lands right in the middle of world-class fall fishing on the Upper Cape, so bring your gear and plan to stay awhile. Falmouth has the shops, the restaurants, and the nightlife to fill out a weekend, plus the ferry from Falmouth Harbor to Martha’s Vineyard and the aquarium at nearby Woods Hole. And with the fall run firing along the Cape and islands, the striper bite out front is only getting better.
